What are we about?
We are a group of open source developers who understand the importance and necessity of computer security. Our interest in this field is the main inspiration to the projects we develop or assist with development of.
Our goals include:
-
Provide analysts, auditors and managers with a modular toolkit framework.
In our experience the best way to maintain good security practice is to have a standardised toolkit/operating environment. This ensures that everyone on your team are reading from the same page, and minimises the administrative overhead of installation procedures and similar documentation.
-
Provide an intuitive approach to computer and network security.
As more and more tools are developed to aid in defending and testing your networks it can often become a complex task to implement and operate them cohesively. By abstracting the low level control of individual programs to a centralised and operator friendly process, one can improve the effeciency and productivity of their team.
We believe it is better to be doing the job rather than wasting resources ensuring it can be done. With the proof of concept Securix-NSM release we are trialling a number of adminsistrative style scripts that supports this higher level abstraction.
-
Provide more flexible ways of securing the network.
The trend of computer and network security is ever changing. As tools come and go we will continue to integrate, adapt and polish our methodology around them to ensure their deployed success.
Support & Feedback
Although the software and tools are provided as is with no warranty given or implied we will endevour to provide as much support as our available time permits. To get the most useful support please send an email via the appropriate mailing lists. Alternatively you can send a private email to the developers via dev@[remove]securixlive.com.
